Thursday's gonna be a big day. Like action packed. I took a half day for my OB appointment that is in the afternoon. This one is gonna be a doozy. It will incorporate my glucose test, a 3D ultrasound, my regular two week check... oh and don't forget the rho.gham shot in the butt. I have A- blood and hubby has A+ blood. We gotta make sure my body doesn't turn on Baby Girl. If I'm lucky they will start the cervix checks and I can just be all kinds of violated. I don't think that starts for a couple more visits though!
My IF brain tells me it was a bad idea to schedule this appointment on my birthday - what if something is wrong? Hopefully that is just plain silliness.
We invited my mom and dad to the ultrasound and I can tell they are really excited. My mom only had one ultrasound with me and it was before you can even tell what anything is. They just wanted to confirm a baby with a heartbeat. She had been hospitalized with a major cyst rupture and they told her there was no way I would survive it. And I said HA, watch me! If not for the cyst she would never have had an ultrasound. So I think they are in for an exciting experience.
After the appointment, we will all go out to dinner for my birthday! I am so thankful that we are where we with Baby Girl for this birthday. Even though I knew grad school would take a long time, I didn't foresee the (non-IF related) events of the past several years delaying motherhood for me. But then again I didn't know if I would ever get pregnant. In any case, I am truly blessed this birthday. Especially compared to last year when I was fresh off a miscarriage. And I gotta get in a giant piece of chocolate cake before the glucose results come in - just in case!
Unfortunately, I made a big blunder at work yesterday which set back my plans for the week. I had planned on doing office-y stuff on Thursday for the half day but now I will have to bust my butt to get my experiment done in time to go to the doctor. Darnit!
And finally, my present to myself is set to arrive - those black shoes from two posts ago!
