My Feet Are So Happy

So I gave up. On being professional at work. Well, I gave up on dressing professionally. Really it's just my feet.

I think I mentioned a while back that I could no longer wear the black shoes I wore to work almost every day. Apparently my feet got too big and this is common in pregnancy. I have a notoriously hard time finding shoes that both fit and are comfortable. I blame it on having very long, narrow feet and very high arches. So I started looking for new black shoes and bought a pair that were supposed to be very comfortable. I hate them. I had wanted to just buy black athletic shoes but hubby discouraged that (*grumble*).
Last night I decided I couldn't take it anymore and did what I should have done in the first place and bought some black tennis shoes. My feet have been so sore when I get home, especially my toes. I could barely flex them back or curl them over without cringing. Enough was enough!

Luckily I knew just the shoes I wanted and that would fit. I first bought a pair of red ones about 3 years ago. I love them and I always get comments when I wear them. Not necessarily compliments but comments! Aren't they awesome:
They are really dirty now and I want to buy another pair! A while back I also bought a low-profile version in brown. I already wear these to work occasionally. Mostly on casual days with jeans but they've been known to slip in with brown pants or khakis:
I decided to get them in black to wear with black or gray pants. I already know they will fit and be comfortable. I wish black came in the low profile version since there is less white on the sole so they are less noticeable but oh well. I don't care! Plus other people already get away with wearing athletic shoes with dress pants. These babies should arrive soon:

The best part is that I have been coveting these black ones since i got the red ones. Yay! Good excuse, thanks baby! The best best part is they were on sale and the website has no tax or shipping! Today I already gave in and am wearing the brown ones. Oh happy feet! Now if I could just find a way to justify these pink ones...

  2. Hooray for comfy feet!! When I was working I wore athletic shoes too, comfort over style was my motto. I have a few pairs of Nike's that are on the line and one had a lot of white accents like those Saucony's and a white sole, a permanent sharpie marker fixed that if you're interested. They are now basically black shoes. I love those Saucony's, very, very cute!! :)

  3. I used to wear only heels until I got pregnant and now its only flats. For professional shoes that are comfortable as hell I'd try Cole haans. Yeah tey're pricey but they have Nike air soles and you seriously feel like you are wearing sneakers even though the shoe looks completely professional.

  5. My professional shoes went out the window in my third trimester too. My feet were just too fat, and I got tired of them aching. I wore sandals to work in January and February because nothing else fit. We had to do what we have to do!

  7. Cute shoes! I hope they make your feet happy. I wish I could wear sneakers at my work. Some people do, but they are doctors and nurses.
