We have two four-legged nannies in the house. Well, one of them mostly just wants to lick Baby Girl. But one of our dogs always needs to know where Baby Girl is. If puppy is just in from outside she runs to find the baby. If she is just let out of her kennel, she runs to find the baby. She also responds to the smallest peep from Baby, running to her side. It is so cute. Last week I took a shower while the baby was supposedly sleeping. But by the time I got out she was crying. Screaming, really. Lucy (the dog) was whining too, knowing poor Baby needed us. I couldn't very well run to her whilst still naked so I quickly threw on some clothes, combed my hair and wrapped the towel around it, and brushed my teeth (because no baby deserves death breath). By the time I was finishing poor Lucy was so distressed that she let out the most pathetic whine. She takes good care of her baby! If only she had opposable thumbs.
Here's some proof of her concern back in one of the early days:

And being that I just broke the rules by posting a picture, why not more?
Here's the other puppy laying her head on Baby Girl:

A rare glimpse of the author herself (with nanny/puppy as always):

And the nannies taking a break from baby watching to sunbathe:

Ok, don't tell hubby about the pics!
Love it!! Such good nannies you have there!! :)
ReplyDeleteomg i'm so glad you broke the rules! I LOVE PICS! it is so cute and funny to see how animals react to babies! :)
ReplyDeleteOur dogs are the same way! They are the best baby monitors ever!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh they are adorable! (the dogs AND the baby!)
ReplyDeleteCute pix! Love those Bostons! We have one too:)
ReplyDeleteThe pics will be our little secret. ;p Baby Girl is ADORABLE!!
ReplyDeleteWe have some 4-legged nannies, too! Our dog, Cowboy, laid outside our bedroom when we came home with P and whined whenever he heard her fuss or cry. Our cats love her, too, and both them and the dog come running whenever she really gets tuned up. It's really sweet. :)
Love it!!! Nice to see you!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute and sweet!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute--both Baby Girl and the dogs! Am I guessing right--Boston Terriers? (And your secret is safe with me).
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pictures! I swear my lips are sealed.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the one of the dog up on its hind legs looking into the pack-n-play. That is hilarious. Your baby girl certainly has a best friend for life. That is so sweet.
Yay for breakin the rules!! Your daughter, and your pups, are adorable!! My sis had a Boston but they had to give him away when they moved from their apartment (no pet rent) to their house ($200/mo pet rent!!). This was just before their baby girl was born so they didn't get a chance to really appreciate the kid-friendliness Boston Terriers have.
ReplyDeleteHope you decide to continue your blog!
