Happy 10th Anniversary, Sperminator!

I'm home sick today. Blech. But life goes on...

Ever since hubby got the call that his s/a looked "good", I have been anxiously awaiting the actual results. I made him call and request the numbers. I am a scientist, I need data!

The sheet they filled out gives his result for all the categories and then provides a "reference value" which I assumed was a normal range. I did a little extra googling though, to see if there were different "normal" ranges floating around. Of course there are. In any case, it doesn't really matter because apparently my hubby does have quite the little army, by any scale. Consider yourself warned: serious TMI to follow.

His percent with normal morphology is 63%. I saw 15, 30, and 60% all listed as normal, so we're good to go. The only thing that isn't stellar about the little guys is that they're no Michael Phelps. Motility was only 45%. The reference value on our chart was 40% but according to most other sources 45% is just a bit low. However, it really doesn't matter because of his count. The number I saw most frequently for average was 60 million/mL but also saw that anything over 20 million is ok. His count was 234 million/mL! Damn! So 45% of 234 million is still more than the average man has, total. This man could knock up a tree! Ok, ew, bad visual. His answer to my analysis of his analysis? He said, "Good thing I wasn't a slut when I was younger. I'd have kids running around all over the place." Yes dear, good thing. :) And if I were Michelle Duggar and we had gotten married right away, we'd probably have 10 kids by now.

I am ecstatic about this news, of course. This doesn't begin to make my situation better but at least it doesn't add insult to injury. Now where are my eggs, damnit?!

As we were discussing this I realized that we missed an anniversary. Not our wedding anniversary, but the anniversary of when we started dating. It was a little over two weeks ago. Hubby was really cute, he made a point to bring it up every month of our first year together. We usually remembered it annually after that but it has sort of fallen off, not surprisingly. But this one was a big one. Ten years we have been a couple! I look back and feel happy that I was so young when we started dating (19) and still pretty young when we got married (23) but I still managed to pick a wonderful mate, sperm or no sperm.

Happy 10th anniversary, honey! Maybe I shouldn't be blogging about this, but we blog about AF and eggs and crap all the time, right? At least it's good news!
