Showing and Telling

Showing: Yep I think I am, but only to myself and hubby and anyone else who sees me naked on a regular basis (and I hope that makes just the two of us!). There is a small bump, which I originally attributed to bloating, but now I think it's different. I was bloating and shrinking and repeating for awhile, but this is sticking. I love it! I have been laying in bed at night for years imagining what it would be like to have my belly sticking up and I think I'm on my way. :)

Telling: We said we would wait until after the 1st of the year but... Well, we got too antsy. We had told an aunt and my grandpa at my cousin's funeral (both from the other side of my family and because I knew I wouldn't have another chance to tell them in person). I had told a few friends and both our immediate families. So when people start to hear... it's kinda a snowball effect. Then on Christmas Eve we called my dad's family who were all together and told them over speakerphone. We had also given hubby's parents the go ahead to spread the news. As this is potentially their first grandchild, they were really happy to have the green light.

I keep trying to tell myself that this can't jinx anything. I keep repeating the statistic that only 1% of pregnancies end in miscarriage once a heartbeat has been seen via ultrasound. If only it were 0%. It's still hard, I am still nervous, but I am getting there. Thank you all for your kind words and continued support.

  4. Congrats on the showing...and the telling! It is very difficult not to tell, and especially, I think, around Christmas. Our first ultrasound isn't until Wednesday. Had it not been for Christmas, we might have waited a bit longer to tell the fam, but no way we could act like it was just any normal Christmas! Conrats on your pregnancy!

  5. me again... have a Q for you- I go in for my bloodwork tomorrow- other than HCG and Progesterone should I ask for anything to be tested? I am so nervous and want to make sure all my hormone levels are fine.

    Thanks!!!
