Holy Weekend Batman!

Whew, what a weekend! I thought I was going to have a nice, relaxing weekend but I was wrong! Well, at least about the relaxing part! I present a few of the happenings with bullets:

  • Saturday we drove across town to pick up some stuff I bought from a former coworker. I got a co-sleeper/bassinet (~$250 if new), a sanitizer ($50 if new - she never used it), a graco swing (~$100 if new), a bouncy seat (gonna donate - old and stained), and a bag full of clothes, bottles, diapers, etc (some usable, some tossable) - all for $150! Woo hoo!
  • We then drove way the heck across the valley in the other direction to go to Babies R Us. I made a final decision about the crib I want and checked out strollers. Thought I had a stroller picked but I think I may have changed my mind. Ran some other errands and almost ran out of gas on the freeway!
  • I spent the rest of the day until 1 am (stupid!) going through my Baby Bargains book figuring out everything we need and what brand I may want of each thing. Hubby asked for an idea of what this is all going to cost. Yikes, he shouldn't have asked.
  • Sunday we planned to do some casual car shopping by going to a few dealerships. Five hours later we drove home in our new car. Eep! We hadn't planned on buying but we couldn't pass up the deal that wasn't going to be available for long. They are trying to get rid of 2010 models (already!) to make room for 2011's which are totally redesigned. They only had one such car in the whole area in a color we would consider. Hubby has been pushing this particular car for a while, even though I was resistant. Ultimately, compared to other cars we were considering it allowed us to knock $4000 off the cash we needed to put down to get payments where we wanted them. We can use that $4000 this year!! And I do like the car! I'm jealous that hubby gets to drive it because our other car gets better gas mileage and I have a way longer commute!
  • I almost forgot! We also found out that our baby has a cousin on the way! Hubby's brother and his wife are 9 weeks along and called to tell us this weekend. Very exciting!

Yikes. I was exhausted by Sunday night. Then I woke up Monday morning at 3:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I had grand plans of posting belly pics and house before and afters this weekend. You can probably see why that didn't happen. I also still owe it to a few ladies to participate in the awards they gave me. I haven't forgotten! Until the next time...

  1. What an exciting weekend! Woohoo and the deals AND new car! I am envious. I would love a new car, I just don't want the payments. You two cleaned house for sure.

I wanted to say thank you for your comment earlier. I am trying to get everything cleared up. I didn't realize you could comment on the LFCA postings until you said something, so I went and put a response to the comment. Hopefully everything will be fine by tomorrow at this time.

Give the baby a little squeeze from me.

    *big hugs*

  2. This sounds like an awesome weekend!!!

I changed my mind so much on strollers... we eventually picked one, but that was really one of the hardest things to pick out.

  3. What a great weekend!! I love, Love, LOVE bargains!! You just can't pass them up, on baby stuff or cars. Strollers was like a total ordeal for me too. We actually ended up getting one before we were pregnant this time. Yay for cousins!! As for being tired, I swear I could sleep 24/7 and still be tired.
