So, first of all, it is clear from comments on my last post that I am not the only person who hates the low neck lines of all maternity shirts. This leads me believe that we should all go into business together and make our own maternity line. Except that I'm a scientist with very little business sense and only mediocre (I hope?) fashion sense. Ok, nevermind but if one of you goes ahead and does it let me know and I will buy t-shirts from you. Have you also noticed how most maternity tees have sickeningly cutesie sayings on them about babies or bumps or bellies or whatever? Ugh.
I have still not been myself lately and thus my lack of posting. These headaches are really kicking my ass. On Thursday it was so bad that I had to take tylenol and was crying, which probably didn't help. All I could do was lay in bed and pray to fall asleep. Luckily, yesterday I felt much better and was able to enjoy a nice dinner out with friends and so far today I feel fine. Still always have a headache though. I'm still seeing the chiropractor and hoping that it will start to help. My back feels great and the adjustments result in much less cracking noise so I am thinking that is a good sign(?). The adjustments in my neck are still really loud and I can feel when he starts poking around up there that my muscles on the right side are so tight.
The friends we went out with last night are also expecting their first baby. She is about 6 weeks ahead of me so it is nice to have someone to chat about this stuff with and ask the questions about what and when is normal, etc. Even if she's more than 5 years younger than me! We also realized we go to the same OB clinic so we can compare notes on the different doctors. Since we moved to Arizona in 2006 we have been on the move (around the state/changing jobs) so much that we haven't really had a chance to make friends and we are finally doing that through my husbands job and that is really nice to have again.
Since this is clearly a completely random post (much like my scattered pregnant brain works these days) we'll just keep that up. As soon as I am done here, we are going to take the dogs for a w-a-l-k. If they even know that I am typing the word they'll probably go crazy! Then some lunch at the mall before we try to track down some more maternity shirts. Then hubby will hang out while I get my hair cut. Good lord, it hasn't been cut since before I got pregnant. It is absolutely a disgrace! Hopefully this headache will stay mild and we can have a nice day!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

I had never had a headache in my life...until a week or so ago. Now I've been getting them daily. :( Good luck on maternity shirt hunting!!
ReplyDeleteoh no- hope you get reprieve from the bouts of headaches very soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck with the maternity shopping- post pics if you have any good finds!
Man headaches suck. The chiropractor will so help trust me. I have never got them bad, but I know people who get them so bad they are laid out for days. I am a 100% believer in chiropractic. I miss getting adjustments, I have yet to find one here in Cairo, I'm sure there are some, but in my opinion I would need to go to one that someone I know went to, can't play around like that.
ReplyDeleteI always wore tanks under my maternity tops. I guess they figure small chested women like me want to show off our preggie girls. ;)
ReplyDeleteI went to the chiropractor a few times during my pregnancy too because it felt like my neck was out a lot. I always felt great for the half hour after the appointment, and then my neck would shift right back out of place again. Your joints are so loose because of the hormones that I found going to the chiro just isn't worth it. It never sticks. I did find that getting regular massages helped though. I went every single week of my pregnancy, and that was what helped my neck the most. I highly recomment it. :)
You are making me dread shopping for maternity clothes. I was already a DD and now I'm growing. A low-cut maternity shirt will probably be obscene.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the headaches. I hope you can get some relief soon.
You have an award at my blog!! And I finally got around to posting the other one you gave me!! Thanks!! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay Jill...I may actually be growing confident enough to follow you again...You are my first pregnancy blog that I am adding today. Scary! I am sorry that you had such a bad headache. I hate those things. Going out to dinner with another pregnant lady sounds fun! I haven't started shopping for maternity shirts, but I did try to get pants yesterday. I decided that short and fat people are not allowed to be pregnant. So I just had to dig out my fat fat fat pants. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice blog. A 40-week pregnancy is really just a blip in our whole life time, but the problem with maternity clothing during that time is very painful. Keeping this in mind, two best friends and mother of two children each started http://www.bellybundles.com. We have high quality maternity clothes there and we would like to hear your feedback on our products.
Thanks,
