Move It, Baby!

Over 18 weeks now and I still can't feel the baby moving! Remember how I was sure the baby was incapable of moving? Well this obviously isn't helping. Although hubby swears the baby was moving during the last scan but stopped as soon as we spotted it. I was probably too excited to remember. Also, I know it is still normal to not be able to feel the movement. Plus my digestive system is known for being especially bubbly and churny (hubby and I can hear it all the time!) so even if I felt stuff I would probably just think it was digestion or gas. Sigh, I can't wait to feel real flutters and now that's what it is. I keep telling baby to do some aerobics for me!

I really really hope we will see movement on the anatomy scan... which is just a little over 36 hours away! I usually don't wish for Mondays to come but this time I am. I am so nervous about making sure everything is ok, but also excited of course. I just really want to hear that everything is good, so far as we would be able to tell. I think that will really put my mind at ease.

Oh, and I have also now decided I probably have placenta previa. What is my evidence? Absolutely nothing at all. But I did have a dream about it. I swear I am not normally a hypochondriac! I hope to have nothing but good things to report soon. :)

  1. I can't wait to read all about the scan on Monday. I also can't wait to hear how much it put your mind at ease and brought you comfort. I'm sure your little bundle is just fine. It could just be sitting father back toward your spine. Honestly though, you probably have felt it move and just discounted it as gas. That's pretty much what it feels like this early in the game. I felt my baby best this early in my pregnancy when I was laying on my back in bed at night watching TV. I knew it was her because I didn't toot a few minutes later. ;)

Here's to hoping you feel that little baby soon!

  2. When I first felt my baby, I thought it was gas too. You have to be very still and quiet. Lay down with your eyes closed and relax, you will eventually feel something, especially once you hit between 18-20 weeks. It will be random. Once you get further along the baby will become super active.

PS - My baby is now 2 months old and moves all the time... LOL!

  3. I read that if you have an anterior placenta it is harder to feel the baby move. My OB has said nothing to me about my placenta, maybe yours is anterior. It took me a few times before I realized that what I was feeling was indeed the baby. It's teeny, tiny little pokes. When I'm still I notice more. Good luck on Monday!! Can't wait to hear about your awesome scan!! Ours is on Monday the 1st so I'm looking forward to a Monday too!!

  4. happy Vday!

Wishing you a very active anatomy scan- maybe it's just an old wives tale but don't they say if you drink OJ before the scan, the baby will be really active? Give it a try.

  5. I second what Kari said...sometimes the positioning of your placenta will affect how much/how soon you can feel the movement. Hang in there...I know that today's scan will ease all your worries! He/She might just be a shy thing. :)

Saying prayers for you today...can't wait to hear how things go! xoxoxo
