It's ok, because we saw her move! Yep, it's a baby girl and everything looks great! She certainly wasn't having a dance party but we saw her turn her head, move all arms and legs, and wiggle just a bit. She was being very lady-like and we almost didn't get a clear gender shot until the tech was poking her and coaxing her to move a little. But she was just beautiful and I couldn't be more relieved. We were both so nervous this morning before the appointment!
The placenta is posterior and in a good position. The doctor told me not to worry that I don't feel anything, and really I knew it could still be a while. I just needed some kind of movement reassurance and now I have it thanks to the scan. The doctor said, "Some people will tell you they felt their baby move every day starting at 15 weeks. Don't listen to that or you'll go crazy. It is absolutely normal to not feel the baby move consistently until even 26 weeks." But again, now I know she is fine, as far as we can tell, and I'll just be excited when it happens. Truthfully, I think I have been feeling it a little now and then but it is still impossible to distinguish it from my ever present GI movements. It really could be either. I need to get a really good poke before I will know for sure.
I think hubby and I left the office with perma-grins and headed directly to Target to buy her first (pink, of course) clothes! After lunch, I had to head to work for a half day even though hubby has off - boo. You can see how hard I am working but I had to share our good news for the day. Wishing you all the best! Ooh, I should probably attach a pic:
Congratulations what a beautiful little girl!! So glad you saw her move & your fears are eased!! Sorry you had to go to work, bummer.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you got that ever-so-needed reassurance with the u/s. Happy shopping!
Congratulations! You are going to have so much fun shopping for that little girl. We have clothes that she never got to wear because there were too many to wear before she out grew them! I just couldn't resist buying though!

You've gotta post pics of those, too :) Everyone around me is telling me that we're going to have a girl when we finally get our BFP. I even have a friend who has started knitting a pink blanket for us!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting - I'm so relieved that our insurance is there to cover these expenses; I found out today that unless we do IUI or IVF, most of my appts, procedures (u/s, HSG, etc) will be covered under our regular insurance b/c the dr has it coded Ovarian Dysfunction and not fertility. YAY! Not that I like the sound of Ovarian Dysfunction but let's leave the fertility insurance for the more expensive stuff. hehe
Enjoy your day!
Congratulations!! She's so beautiful!!
