We are members of the Phoenix Zoo and go all the time when it's nice out (October to April-ish). We just got our member newsletter/magazine thingy today. There was a story about the komodo dragon exhibit that is set to open soon. Apparently the female komodo dragon they will be getting is already famous and something of a scientific wonder. Bitch got pregnant all by herself! No male needed. Well, not pregnant per se but she laid two eggs that were never fertilized, yet hatched. This is not unprecedented in the komodo dragon world I guess, but it's rare and impressive nonetheless.
How easy it is in the animal world. I asked hubby, "Wouldn't that be nice if I could just get pregnant on my own because I wanted to?" To which he answered, "Yeah, I'd like a little Jill clone!" Awww. :) Alas, it will not be so easy for me...
On an unrelated note, I am loving ICLW! I am actually getting comments and finding lots of new blogs I like! Fun times! I'm not sure if I'm cheating though. I replied to a lot of comments from my blog but I think I was only supposed to do one, or at least only count one. Oh well, I'll try to branch out tomorrow and do six totally new ones.
