Well, There's Good News and Bad News

So first, the good news:

I am pregnant! (There has to be an exclamation point. You will understand if you watched Sein.feld.) I saw the lightest, faintest, most beautiful little second line on the pee stick last Tuesday. I went in to the clinic on Wednesday for a blood draw and hcg was 40 and progesterone was 23.6. Repeated on Friday with an hcg of 134 and progesterone of 31.1. I am feeling a tolerable level of nausea, no cramping this time around (thank God) and, surprisingly, hope.

More about all this later and instead, on to the bad news:

I am sick. As in, I have some kind of virus. I have my seasonal flu shot already and I am not sick enough for it to be H1.N1 luckily, but I am undeniably sick. I had a terrible headache all day yesterday and then realized I had a fever. I still have a fever and it terrifies me. I read that 20-28 days past conception is the worst time to have a fever because so much of the central nervous system is just forming. I am 19 days past. Fortunately, my fever is not terrible and so far it has not gone above 99.3. I know I should probably not be worried but how can I not? I have taken one extra strength Ty.lenol twice when I panicked because the fever reached 99.3. My clinic says that's ok and I should just rest and stock up on fluids. They are telling me not to worry unless my temp goes over 100.3. I wouldn't be so damn worried if I was further along.

In any case, I know I was holding out on you guys (surprise!) and I hadn't decided when I was going to tell. But I decided I would tell today so that I could ask for your prayers or good vibes or whatever you are comfortable sending into the universe for me. Actually, not for me, I will be fine. For my little one.

There is definitely something going around right now. I pray that the fever doesn't get any worse and that it breaks soon. Be sure to take extra good care of yourself while it persists. Stay off your feet and take it easy.
